Artist Bio:

I was born in 1994 in Klerksdorp, but moved to the beautiful coast of Mossel Bay in 2002, where my parents opened the very first tattoo shop in the area.
I have always been a creative by heart and have dipped my toes in quite a few mediums. Watercolours, pastels, polymer clay and a very unhealthy addiction to any type of pencil, but my love for oil painting has always been top.
I am a hobbyist painter in my spare time and have joined the family ranks of tattooing as my trade. Finding a passion in the skindeep art-form.
Coming second in the AGAC 2023 is one of my most celebrated achievements.
I am passionate about all things nerd, being an enthusiast of gaming, anime and dungeons and dragons. I have a big love for animals, and I am a chocoholic by choice!

Inspiration:

Hieronymus Bosch left the interpretation of "The Garden of Earthly Delights" entirely up to the viewer. I wanted to do things a little bit differently, so here is a short explanation of "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika.

Top: Our History
-We start off with the rock art, crown, and hut of the San and Khoikhoi people.
-Jan van Riebeeck sets up the VOC in Table Bay. Starting the Cape Colony.
-Boers leave Cape Colony in the 'Groot Trek'. Shaka Zulu's tribe and the Boers have a bloody war, thus the river turning red.
-Diamonds are discovered in Kimberley, thus the diamond rush.
-Boers rebel against the British, sparking the Anglo-Boer War.
-Gold is discovered in the Transvaal, triggering the gold rush.
- South Africa breaks free from British rule and becomes an independent state. This is represented by the snapped chains around the broken teapot.
-The dead zebra represents the start and fall of apartheid.

Middle: Our Nationals
Seated at the governmental table are our countries' big five.
-Rhino. Minister of Transport.
-Elephant. Minister of Police.
-Leopard. Minister of Sport.
-Buffalo. Minister of Agriculture.
-Lion, known as the leader of the pack. President.

The table is decorated with our countries most prized national symbols:
-Bird : Bloukraan
-Animal : Springbok
-Flower : Protea
-Tree : Geelhout
-Fish : Galjoen.
In the center is our coat of arms, which reads: Diverse people unite.
