About this piece:

I took the most powerful area of the sculpture and re-imagined it and captured the power and emotion on canvas. Women are still being exploited, but we need to focus and promote that. Sexuality and erotica can be beautiful and sensual.

 About the Artist:

My first memories are those of my mother painting and me dabbling with a pencil and crayons at the age of 2 and falling in love with colours.

I am a self-taught artist who loves to create art and write poetry. My preferred medium are oils and I enjoy portraits, the human body and still life compositions.

I am a working for a large corporate as a Financial Manager and have been painting for the biggest part of 40 years, mainly as a hobby, but for the last 10 years I have been seriously creating art. I normally start with an idea and rough sketch and the canvas takes me on a journey of its own and develop to an amazing ending. It is like a symphony that keeps you in suspense until the end.

My thoughts are embedded in every brushstroke and when I do a commission, the hopes and dreams of the subject is engrained in the painting - It becomes a visual poetry, a tribute to the universe.

The balance between the "far music", which is the perfect composition, and the " near music" which is the symphony of brushstrokes is just as important as the choice of the subject.

I do not paint full time but give every spare moment to create art and sell my art on all available platforms. At the young age of 61 years, I still attend and enjoy art classes and learning from others and aspire to become a serious full-time professional artist.
